my best train is the class 156 first scotrail livery and the west highland line i have done oban 11 times and mallaig 3 but i prefare oban....

WCML north of Preston - fantastic scenery. It was fantastic to charge up there behind an 86 in a nice comfy MK2f with a window seat, or a MK3a behind an 87 or a 90.

Still love the route despite it having, 185s, 221s, 390s and other plastic trains

Most definitely the Class 456, and my favorite line is the WCML.
